Surface Energy Coefficient Determination in Global Mass Formula from Fission Barrier Energy
Journal Title: Cumhuriyet Science journal - Year 2017, Vol 38, Issue 4
Abstract
Semi-empirical mass formulae of the atomic nucleus describe binding energies of the nuclei. In the simple configuration and pattern of this formula, there are five terms related to the properties of the nuclear structure. The coefficients in each terms can be determined by various approach such as fitting on experimental binding energy values. In this paper, the surface energy coefficient in the formula which is a correction on total binding energy has been investigated by a method that is not previously described in the literature. The experimental fission barrier energies of nuclei have been used for this task. According to the results, surface energy coefficient in one of the most conventional formula has been improved by a factor of 3.4.

Statistical Estimation for the Weibull Distribution Under Progressive Type-I Interval Censoring with Part-Time Operator
In this study, a new life testing method called “progressive type-I interval censoring with part time operator” is introduced. We obtained the maximum likelihood estimators for parameters of Weibull distribution. A simul...
Comparison of Remote Sensing Classification Techniques for Water Body Detection: A Case Study in Atikhisar Dam Lake (Çanakkale)
Water resources management is one of the most important issues of today. Satellite remote sensing have been successfully used to detect the presence of water bodies. In this study, four remote sensing methods: (1) normal...
On Razzaboni Transformation of Surfaces in Minkowski 3-Space
In this paper, we investigate the surfaces generated by binormal motion of Bertrand curves, which is called Razzaboni surface, in Minkowski 3-space. We discussed the geometric properties of these surfaces in with respec...
Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Investigation of Radiation Effect on Certain Types of Drug Powders
In this study, gamma rays were applied to the sulfadimethoxine, pyrazinamide, and chloramphenicol in the dose range of 1-15 kilogray, in order to detect radiosensitivity of paramagnetic species, which are formed after ir...
Shell Closure N = 82 nuclei interpretation by the Cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky Model : 136-138Ce
A theoretical studying of nuclei in the shell closure region (N =82), in particular cerium isotopes 136-138Ce, has been made in the frame of macroscopic-microscopic, Cranked Nilsson Strutinsky (CNS)model. Many n...
