Survey on the Research Challenges of Radio Resource Management in LTE-A and the Current Proposed Solutions for these Challenges
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF COMPUTERS & TECHNOLOGY - Year 2013, Vol 7, Issue 3
Abstract
Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-Advanced) has been recently submitted by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as one of the candidates 4G technologies. LTE-Advanced is expected to outperform its predecessor (i.e. LTE) by providing data rate up to 1Gbps and 500 Mbps in the downlink and uplink directions, respectively, also by supporting higher speed mobility (i.e. 500 km/h). In order to allow such advances in the performance, Radio Resource Management (RRM) must be effectively utilized. This paper studies the technical challenges associated with some of the RRM tasks (including Packet scheduling, interference management and handover control), in addition it presents from the open literature some of the proposed solutions to these technical challenges.

Applying Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for feature optimization in UAV Navigation
In this paper, the bee colony algorithm is used for optimizing features which have been extracted from UAV’s digital camera by SURF algorithm. To do that, the local map is stored in UAV memory before flight. During fli...
A review on Privacy Preservation and Collaborative Data Mining
Privacy preservation is major issue in current data transmission over internet and cloud network. For the integrity and security of data various methods are used such as cryptography, data transformation, Steganography,...
An Image Encryption Scheme Using 2D Generalized Sawtooth Maps
In this paper, a new image encryption scheme based on 2D generalized sawtooth map is proposed. Utilizing the chaoticnature of 2D generalized sawtooth maps, image pixel positions are scrambled and image pixels gray values...
A novel method for secret image sharing Using nibble exchange
This paper proposes a new scheme for secret image sharing which shuffles and manipulates the nibbles (and hence the bytes) of the pixel values of the images. We have developed a new algorithm called LDRU (Left-Down-Right...
Concurrent Scanning for High Quality Hand Over Support in Mobile WiMAX Networks
Mobile WiMAX is IEEE 802.16e standard established for mobile broadband wireless access (BWA). Mobility in WiMAX system is an important issue when the mobile station (MS) moves and be handover between base stations (BSs)....
