Sustainable development – the key for green aviation
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2014, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
The aviation industry has always been seeking the technological progress that will optimise the economic, operational and environmental way of flying. In the first part of this study the author describes the impact of the CO2 emissions on the climate change. Also, the author emphasises the fact that once again the aviation environment is asking for new breakthroughs to face the challenge of the aviation’s sustainable growth. Airbus and its approach with the least possible impact on environment are introduced in the last part of this paper. Additionally, the environmental way of greener aviation is illustrated by examples of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions measurements made for several selected airlines.

Influences of surface temperature on a low camber airfoil aerodynamic performances
The current note refers to the comparison between a NACA 2510 airfoil with adiabatic walls and the same airfoil with heated patches. Both suction and pressure sides were divided into two regions covering the leading edge...
VTVL concept optimisation of the landing gear
Vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) is a subject of international interest at the moment thanks to the successful recovery of the Blue Origin vehicle. Aggressive weight targets with a short development time in the...
EVAPRED - A CODE FOR FATIGUE ANALYSIS OPTIMIZATION
The fatigue can be, in fact, defined as: “failure under a repeated or otherwise varying load, which never reaches a level sufficient to cause failure in a single application”. Physical testing is clearly unrealistic for...
A Qualitative Comparison between the Proportional Navigation and Differential Geometry Guidance Algorithms
This paper discusses and presents an overview of the proportional navigation (PN) guidance law as well as the differential geometry (DG) guidance algorithm that are used to develop the intercept course of a certain targe...
