Symptomatic diagnostics of the state of the university scientific activity system

Abstract
The necessity of diagnostics conducting of the university scientific activity system is substantiated. The most representative indicators for diagnostics are presented and their significance in retrospective is formulated. Symptomatic diagnostics of the scientific activity system state of Lviv PolytechnicNational University was conducted. The set of positive and negative signs (symptoms), which reflect changes in the state of the system for the analyzed period, is determined, and their causes are analyzed. The strengths and weaknesses of the scientific activity system are formulated, which in future can become the information base for the development of recommendations for strategic planning of the university.
