SYNONYMY AND VARIABILITY IN THE UKRAINIAN ECONOMIC TERMINOLOGY SYSTEM

Abstract
Summary The article deals with the problem of the symmetry of symbols and meanings, in particular the phenomenon of synonymy, which arises when violating the unambiguous correspondence of the term and the meaning. This research explores the linguistic phenomenon of synonymy (synonyms-doublets, structural-semantic types of synonyms, contextual synonymy) in the Ukrainian terminology of economics. In analyzing the phenomenon of the substitution of the term in the paradigmatic aspect, it is established that the terms synonyms relate to the same notion, characterizing its various qualities and properties. This phenomenon is defined as terminological duplication. In the study of the variability of the instruments of expression of the economic meaning in the syntactic aspect, the morphological, semantic and denotative (situational) form of substance are alienated, and a semantic substitution is presented.
