Synoptic analysis of intense and stormy winds in north seashores of Persian Gulf
Journal Title: Caspian Journal of Applied Sciences Research - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Intense winds are an ecological destructive phenomenon that causes great economical damages. Persian Gulf places on various low-pressure nucleus in winter on the basis of its geographical condition, so, if causes dangerous and serious storms in it. This phenomenon influenced by special atmosphere conditions. The goal of this research is to investigate and know dynamic factors effected on forming intense and stormy winds in Booshehr. So direction and speed data of three-hours wind of eight synoptic stations in48 years periods in Booshehr(1961-2008) provided from meteorology organization. Then, winds that had more than10 meters in a second speed were separated, and the most intense ones were. To investigate effective synoptic factors effective on happening intense winds, a synoptic maps of sea level pressure and geo potential height of500and850 hecto-Pascal scales were provided and analyzed as well as wind direction and speed maps, moisture temperature maps for the day before storm, the day of storm and the next day of it. In this article; after classification winds with more than10 meters in a second speed equipoised patterns in forming stormy conditions were prepared, and then analyzed them. Results show that on the time of happening intense winds, combination of deep hod of east of Mediterranean and Sudan low-Pressure clapper along with deep mound placed on center and west of Mediterranean that prepare favorite conditions to transfer moist and cold weather of Mediterranean sea behind this mound cause streams by suitable speed, direction and moisture and cyclic route on Iran and especially under-studied area.
