Synthesis and characterization of composite nanofibers with VARTM and Electrospinning process
Journal Title: Carbon - Science and Technology - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
Fiber-reinforced polymer composites have made tremendous advancements in the technology of engineering materials. To manufacture advance composite, quantity and size of reinforcement and failure of the composites play the important role. From various methods of manufacturing composites ,Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) was found to have high fiber weight fraction which contributes to enhance the mechanical properties of the two phase or three phase nanocomposite, Here we have compared the VATRM and Hand Molding with three different material systems and found the enhanced tensile and flexural strength of two phase composite and manufactured TEOS nanofibers using electrospinning process as secondary reinforcement to improve the interlaminar delamination three phase nanocomposite.

Removal of cationic surfactant (CTAB) from aqueous solution onto activated carbon obtained from corncob
Direct and indirect releases of large quantities of surfactants to the environment may result in serious health and environmental problems. Therefore, surfactants should be removed from water before water is released to...
Is vacuum annealing converts p-type single wall carbon nanotube field effect transistor (in air) to n-type (in vacuum) is universially true (?)
Our study on nickel silicide and gold contacted single-wall-carbon-nanotube field effect transistors (SWCN-FETs) is in sharp contrast to earlier published reports of type conversion in SWCN-FETs (from p- to n-) when cycl...
The examination of NiO and CoOx catalysts supported on Al2O3 and SiO2 for carbon nanotubes production by catalytic chemical vapor deposition of methane
The effects of catalyst components on the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are always the concern of many. The aim of this work is to examine the dependence of the morphology of CNTs formed on the nature of NiO and C...
Frequency, delay and velocity analysis for intrinsic channel region of carbon nanotube field effect transistors
Gate wrap around field effect transistor is preferred for its good channel control. To study the high frequency behavior of the device, parameters like cut-off frequency, transit or delay time, velocity are calculated an...
Comparative study on the mechanical properties of banana and sisal woven rovings polyester composites
Natural fiber polymer composites are widely used in many applications. Banana and sisal woven rovings reinforced polyester composites were manufactured by hand lay-up technique. The woven rovings were modified chemically...
