Synthesis and Studies of Nickel (II) and Cobalt (II) complexes of Furfural Isonicotinoyl Hydrazone (FINH)
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Chemistry and Environment (IJRCE) - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
New co-ordination complexes of Ni(II) and Co(II) with furfural isonicotinoyl hydrazone (FINH) has been synthesised and characterised by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, spectroscopic (IR, UV-visible) methods. The ligand, FINH coordinates to the metal ions either in keto or enol modes. The insolubility of the complexes in most of the common solvents like DMSO, ethanol, methanol, benzene etc. suggests the non-electrolytic nature for both the Ni and Co complexes.
