SYNTHESIS MODEL OF THE PROCESS OF HEATING AND COOLING RODS IN THE PROTECTIVE HOUSING BASED ON EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES

Abstract
Purpose. The work deals with processes of heating and cooling elements of the electrical machine for general cooling system control dependencies. The control actions of cooling fan drive are formed on basis of current sensors in the windings or the readings of temperature sensors. Methodology. The basis for obtaining general control dependencies is experimental research. The investigations were carried out on an experimental installation simulating the heating of conductor in the groove, as well as its cooling with the use of various types of ventilation. The physical model of the conductor in the groove is a copper rod, which is in a protective casing. On the basis of experimental data, a synthesis of the regression model of the heating of the rod and the casing was performed. For each model, the approximation is calculated by the method of least squares. Using the method of recursive equations, a complex two-parameter model of heating processes is obtained. The obtained model allows to formulate law governing the drive of cooling system of the ventilation system, setting the necessary performance of the fan to maintain the temperature of active parts of machine at an acceptable level. The model can be used as a control law for the frequency-controlled electric drive of the cooling fan. Results. The carried out of the experimental studies of heating process in the groove of an electric machine. Obtained temporal changes depending on the casing surface and with different performance cooling fan. The complex two-parameter model obtained on the basis of experimental research of processes and cooling can be used as the control law for the frequency-controlled electric drive of the cooling fan. The obtained control law ensures the stabilization of the heating temperature when it is set. Originality. The created experimental installation provides observation of really proceeding thermal processes in active parts of the electric machine. The dependences of the temperature of heating elements for the first time only on the performance of cooling fan. Practical value. The obtained dependence can be included in the frequency converter software of the adjustable electric drive of cooling fan, which will allow to effectively cool the windings and prolong the service life of insulation of electrical machines.
