Synthesis of Allosteric Modulators of CB1 Cannabinoid Receptors
Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Applied Chemistry (IOSR-JAC) - Year 2018, Vol 11, Issue 6
Abstract
Sample compounds that could act as allosteric modulators of CB1 cannabinoid receptors were synthesized. The compounds are analogues of pre-discovered bioactive molecules that bind to the CB1 allosteric site. Allosteric modulation could be a new effective approach to manipulating the endocannabinoid system by enhancing the signaling of already existing selective agonists, inverse agonists and enzyme inhibitors.Fischer indole synthesis, Vilsemeier-Haack reaction, InBr3-catalyzed sulphonation of indoles, reductive amination of indoles, bromination of indoles, were the synthesis reactions applied. Seven analogues were obtained. Percentage yield and melting point determination were performed for each compound. 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy were also applied for characterization.

Iron and Malachite Green Removal By Adsorption Mangifera Indica (Mango Tree Leaf) Shell As Low Cost Adsorbent
Eco-friendly adsorbent has been reported as an alternative to the current expensive methods of removing of iron and malachite green (MG) dye from aqueous solution. Iron is also an essential constituent of human body whic...
Equilibrium isotherm studies for the sorption of hexavalent chromium (VI) onto groundnut shell
Groundnut shells, a low-cost agricultural waste material were used without any physical or chemical modification as an alternative and cheap adsorbent for the removal of Cr (VI) ion from aqueous solution. The aqueous sol...
Isotherm Modeling Of Lead (II) Adsorption From Aqueous Solution Using Groundnut Shell As A Low-Cost Adsorbent
Potentially toxic trace elements such as lead when present in high levels in water, food and soil post serious human health threats all over the world. Adsorption process using different natural materials is among the mo...
Assessment of Trace Elements Contamination of Irrigation Water and Agricultural Soil in Hail Region, Saudi Arabia
The determination of trace elements in water is of widespread importance. The concentrations of elements in the ground water used for irrigation in Hail region (Saudi Arabia) were determined. The trend of elements accord...
Kinetics and Adsorption Studies of Tetracycline from Aqueous Solution Using Melon Husk
The adsorption of tetracycline from aqueous solution was carried out using melon husk as a low-cost adsorbent. The adsorbent was characterized using standard methods and values obtained were; pH = 7.80, bulk density = 0....
