TANPINAR AS AN EXPOSITOR OF CLASSICAL TURKISH LITERATURE

Abstract
The attitude taken in the Republican period regarding the Classical Turkish Literature generally follows a negative course. On the basis of this negativity, largely ideological approaches have been decisive from artistic and aesthetic concerns. The perception of Classical Turkish Literature in the Republican era is a perception that it is an Ottoman and Islamic show in general. The mindset of the Ottomans and Islamic demonstration is what constitutes a total rejection of the character. It can be seen from this rejection mentality that those who are familiar with Classical Turkish Literature can’t save themselves. In this attitude, the guiding intention of the dominant concept should not be kept in sight.
