Target function of a company: evolution of concepts and modern views

Abstract

The article studies evolution of concepts of target function of a company in the context of changing views on the nature of a company, changing conditions of management and practices of management. It reveals main factors that determine formation of the target function of a company, gives analysis of approaches to its determination, which dominate at the modern stage. It uses the conducted study to substantiate the target function of a company, which is adequate to the modern level of development of the society and entrepreneurship, which would later become the main landmark when developing strategy of a company and a system of its financial plans.
