TEACHING ACTIVITY OF THE HISTORIAN VIRA ZHUK (1928-2008) IN THE POLTAVA STATE PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE NAMED AFTER V.H. KOROLENKO (1978-1989)

Abstract
In the article the educational, methodical and pedagogical activity of the famous historian, archivist Vira Zhuk is investigated. The attention is focused on the fact that the scientist trained the whole group of talented teachers, and had considerable achievements in educational, methodical and teaching work. V. Zhuk prepared methodical recommendations for teachers, students, pupils, and published a large number of articles in the journals. She participated in many international, all-Ukrainian and regional historical conferences. Despite the fact that Vira Nikanorovna had no pedagogical education, the teachers often asked her for consultations on problematic issues of the history of Ukraine and a technique of their teaching of the school course of history. Her knowledge on history of Poltavshchyna was especially valuable.
