Teaching Methodology of the Prophet (S.A.W) An Analytical study

Abstract

No doubt in it that, Messenger Muhammad (S.A.W) was sent as a teacher. He is the best teacher ever come on the face of earth in the history of mankind. It is the Messenger’s (S.A.W) pedagogy that singles him out amongst all the teachers of the world. One of the underlying features of his teaching was his communication skills. He used to interact with people according to their status and intellect.This article intends to delve into the pedagogy of Messenger Muhammad (S.A.W). Aim of this article is to explore the strategic steps of Messenger Muhammad (S.A.W) while educating his Companions and to justify these steps as the best of all pedagogies could be adopted in this arena. The six strategic steps that are traced from his pedagogy and discussed in detail in this article are: (i) Persuasion for acquiring knowledge (ii) Developing understanding of knowledge through practice (iii) Jurisprudential inference through exercise (iv) Training under his guidance and reviewing of their inferential skills (v) Appointment of trained teachers and Jurists (vi) Endorsement of expertise of the trained Companions۔
