Technical Aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) for the Radiation Dosimetry Laboratory at ELI-NP Facility
Journal Title: Cumhuriyet Science journal - Year 2018, Vol 39, Issue 1
Abstract
The individual and environmental passive monitoring program of the Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics (ELI-NP) will use a combination of Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) and Solid State Nuclear Track Detector – (SSNTD) detectors. The OSL dosimeters are dedicated for X-rays/gamma radiation monitoring and will contain BeO detectors which provide the personal dose equivalent and the ambient dose equivalent or the directional dose equivalent according to SR EN 62387-1:2012. The SSNTDs are from poly-allyl diglycol carbonate (CR39), whose performance and test requirements are conform to the criteria of ISO 21909-1:2015 and ISO 8529-3:1998 standards. All the activities of the Radiation Dosimetry Laboratory from ELI-NP will comply the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard. This paper presents the management of the technical aspects of Quality Management System (QMS) implemented in the Radiation Dosimetry Laboratory ELI-NP facility, Romania. The accuracy and reliability of laboratory tests are determined by factors such as human factors; accommodation and environmental conditions; methods of analyzing and validating methods; used equipment; traceability of the measurement; sampling; manipulation of measurement items. All of the factors above will contribute to total measurement uncertainty. For this purpose an important role it has the effective management of the technical aspects of the QMS.

Lattice Energies for Groups 1 and 2 Halides from Absolute Hardness
In this work, we presented new empirical equations to calculate the lattice energy values of groups 1 and 2 halides based on absolute hardness values of cations and anions forming the ionic compound. In the given equati...
Forecasting of Ra(226), Th(232) and U(238) Concentrations using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs)
Identification and modeling of radioactive concentrations in a region is very important for the region in terms of radiological hazards. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) can successfully model large systems. The validity...
Chemometric Evaluation of the Heavy Metal Contents in Surface Soils from the Dilovası Region (Kocaeli/Turkey)
Chemometric methods were used to assess the contamination of heavy metals (As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn) and to classify the contents of heavy metals of surface soil samples taken from 10 locations in Dilova...
Neonikotinoidler ile İnsan Lenfositlerinde Genotoksisitenin Uyarılması
Bu çalışmada, neonikotinoid grubu insektisitlerden imidakloprid (İMİ) ve asetamiprid (ASE)’in genotoksik etkileri insane peripheral lenfosit hücrelerinde Kardeş Kromatid Değişim Testi (KKD) ile araştırılmıştır. Bu maddel...
Investigation of Surface Temperature Differentiation of Fagus and Quercus Stands by Using Landsat Images
While climatic features of regions affect the variety of tree species and their structures, the vegetation structures of the regions are effective on micro climate. In this study, thermal differentiations in the Fagus a...
