Teoretical Foundations of Creation Training Materials for Teaching in Clil Technology

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of peculiarities of educational materials creation for plurilingualism formation in the technology of integrated content and language learning. The author considered different variations of existing models of training with the help of immersion technology. The essence and their characteristic features are revealed, the dependence between the effectiveness of learning in the framework of CLIL and the pedagogical conditions of training is determined. It has been shown that the theoretical foundations for the creation of teaching materials within CLIL technology are the pedagogical theories of mastering several languages. They are: theory of Constructivism (J. Piaget, J. Dewey, G. Gardner, J. Brunner); the principle of Interdependence of languages and the principle of Threshold (J.Cummins); the theory of the Second Language Acquisition (S. Krashen), The Output Hypothesis (M. Swain), the Holistic View of bilingualism (F. Grosjean), the updated taxonomy (B. Bloom). This technology enables the ability to combine language and content and connect vocabulary and grammatical skills. The main provisions for the creation of educational materials are presented: 1) select the learning texts carefully and accompany them with a sufficient number of tasks for understanding of the material, because the level of complexity should be lower than the actual level of subject knowledge the students receive in their native language; 2) texts and tasks to them should be accompanied by a demonstration of the peculiarities of new and already known linguistic forms; 3) the constant control of content understanding should not exclude the use of translation in the learning process; 4) stimulation of students’ independent and creative activity, communicative and intercultural skills, application of tasks from analytical and critical thinking, comparison, finding connections and guessing workout; 5) multimodal presentation of information, accounting of educational styles of students and the development of their different types of literacy are appropriate.
