TESTS OF VEHICLES’ STABILITY AND STEERABILITY WITH ABDYNAMICS SR60 STEERING ROBOT

Abstract
Stability and steerability are the most important properties of a vehicle’s active safety. Usual-ly, to determine stability, a double lane change is carried out. To determine steerability, vari-ous tests are performed, which consist of imposing different extortions on the steering wheel and testing the vehicle’s response. To eliminate human error and improve tests repeatability, it is recommended that an automatic system substitutes for the driver.This paper presents the SR60 steering robot, its structure and function as well as its use in testing a vehicle’s stability and steerability.
