THE ALGORITHM FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT OF SCIENTISTS’ PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL POTENTIAL

Abstract
The article emphasis the current problems in the scientific field of Ukraine; it outlines the key issues hampering the national scientific potential development, stresses the need for efforts to develop and preserve Ukrainian scientists’ potential and to recognize the crucial role of the state in these processes and its responsibility as the guarantor, architect and designer of the transformational changes in the Ukrainian science. The article substantiates importance of studying of the resources supporting scientists’ professional development to increase their productivity at the conditions of preservation and multiplication of their personal resources, in particular, at the psycho-physiological level of their functioning. The attention paid to the approach proposed by V.M. Markov, as the author defines the human potential as a system of renewable resources manifested in activities aimed at obtaining socially significant results. This approach implementation means that an individual’s self-development within the framework of his/her professional activities is revealed through his/her realized potential. However, the development of a specialist’s individual motivation, which manifests itself in his/her unrealized potential, creates a contradiction between the actual (present) and the potential (desirable). The latter is the sphere of possibilities (potentials) of self-development. The combination of these forces (in the form of contradictions) creates a kind of "power field" of self-determination: the potential (background) interacts with the actual (procedural), creating the perspective and the basis for transformations of weakness into force, inability into skills, difficulties into success, etc. The most important principle for development of the algorithm for psychological support is to take into account the individual values of the potential, as a system of qualitative-stable formations (resources), and the actual as quantitative variable formations. The unity of these forces, which are characterized by opposite directions, leads to the procedural deployment of self-development. The article presents the developed algorithm supporting psychologically the development and preservation of the Ukrainian scientists’ potential. The algorithm is based on the creation of conditions that activate scientists’ self-development, in particular on the psycho-physiological functional level, and help them make optimal decisions in different situations, realize fully their professional and personal potential and meet the needs for scientific activities.
