The Asessment of Gastroesophageal and Gastropharyngeal Reflux Prevelance After Total Laryngectomy

Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to detect prevalence of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in total laryngectomy patients. Method: Thirty-eight healthy patients who underwent total laryngectomy and followed at least 6 months paticipated to study. Patients were asked to complete gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire (GerdQ) and examined with flexible laryngoscopy. Result: Twenty-seven of 38 (71%) patients had scores over 8 and diagnosed as gastroesophageal reflux (GER). Eleven patients had scores lower than 8. Conclusion: Our study revealed that GER and GFR incidence are higher in total laryngectomy patients.
