THE ASYMMETRIC DRIFT AND THE ROTATION CURVE OF THE GALAXY
Journal Title: Odessa Astronomical Publications - Year 2014, Vol 27, Issue 1
Abstract
Asymmetric drift in the solar neighbourhood is studied by the means of the RAVE data. The asymmetric drift correction is applied to the SDSS data to measure the rotation curve of the Milky Way in the extended solar neighbourhood. The rotation curve is flat between7 and 10 kpc. Via fitting this flat rotation curve, and the inner rotation curve determined through tangent point method, density model of the Milky Way is constructed.

RESULTS OF PROCESSING OF CCD OBSERVATIONS OF SELECTED OPEN CLUSTERS ON MAIDANAK
Observations of 20 open clusters at the Maidanak Observatory were performed using the Zeiss-1000 telescope in the winter of 2018. As the light receiver, a CCD camera Apogee Alta U9000 (3K x 3K, FOV 19.5'x19.5') was used....
X-RAY EMISSION AND ORIENTATION OF SELECTED PF GALAXY CLUSTERS
X-ray counterparts for 35 galaxy clusters contained in the PF catalogue of galaxy clusters and groups were found in XMM-Newton archive. 22 ones (all from ACO catalogue) have extended elliptic X-ray haloes appropriate for...
10 NEW VARIABLE STARS DETECTED BY CRTS
10 new variable stars were found by CRTS.
IDENTIFICATION OF EMISSION LINES IN A METEOR SPECTRUM OBTAINED ON AUGUST 2, 2011
125 emission lines were found in a meteor spectrum obtained on August 2, 2011. The identification of most of the lines is given. The following species were found in the spectrum: CrI, FeI, MgI, SiI, AlI, MnI, CaI, TiI, N...
”ASYMPTOTIC PARABOLA” FITS FOR SMOOTHING GENERALLY ASYMMETRIC LIGHT CURVES
A computer program is introduced, which allows to determine statistically optimal approximation using the "Asymptotic Parabola" fit, or, in other words, the spline consisting of polynomials of order 1,2,1, or two lines (...
