The attempt at evaluation of the ADI microstructure with the use of the image analysis
Journal Title: Archiwum Odlewnictwa - Year 2010, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
In this work the attempt at quantitative evaluation of the microstructure of ADI cast iron matrix has been made. The automatic analysis of the image of the microstructure of austempered spheroidal cast iron has been used for the evaluation. The treatment variant was a two-phase austenitization. First phase was carried out at a temperature t = 950°C and after cooling to a temperature t ’ = 900°C. The isothermal process was carried out at a temperature tpi = 300 and 400°C for 8÷64 min. Ordinary cast iron was austempered. After it the microstructure images were recorded and subjected to automatic image analysis with the use of the NIS ELEMENTS 3,0 AR software.

The influence of amperage of electric arc on microhardness in the area single and overlapping remeltings of HS 6-5-2 steel
The present thesis depicts the microhardness of HV0,065 surface layer of high speed steel HS6-5-2 remelted with the electric arc. There were different surface layer variants of remelting used – the amperage was changed f...
Use of the JM-SPC software to statistical control of high pressure die casting production-attribute valued data type
A new version of the JM-SPC computer program written by J. Mutwil in Delphi for statistical control of production processes is presented. All changes have been by users suggestions caused. For the attribute valued data t...
Thermal analysis and microstructure of master alloys used for modification of silumins
The study presents the technological backgrounds of the process of melting and casting Al-Co, Al-Ni, and Al-Ti master alloys, used as refiners of the microstructure of cast silumins. Basing on the analysis of phase equil...
Fractographic research of the C45 steel remelted with a plasma of electric arc
This work presents research into properties of the surface layer of the C45 steel following the treatment with highly-focused thermal stream utilizing the GTAW method. The remelting of the surface layer of the sample was...
Evolution of Mg-5Al-0.4Mn microstructure after rare earth elements addition
Mg-5Al-0.4Mn-xRE (x = 0, 1, 2, 3 wt.%) magnesium alloys were prepared successfully by casting method. The microstructure was investigated by light microscopy. The influence of rare earth (RE) elements on the area fractio...
