The beginnings of modern nursing in the 19th century

Abstract
The formation of modern nursing is associated with socio–political factors including the wars fought during the second half of the 19th century. The Crimean War resulted in reforms undertaken by Florence Nightingale in nursing care of the sick and the wounded. As a consequence of the military conflict between France and Austria in 1859 the Red Cross organization was founded.<br/><br/>
