The Boyd Conjecture
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN PHYSICS - Year 2017, Vol 13, Issue 4
Abstract
The Boyd Conjecture is that the amplitude of an elementary ray from the Theory of Elementary Waves (TEW) is the physical analog of a probability amplitude from Quantum Mechanics (QM). Boyd learned TEW from his cousin Lewis E. Little, who had said that quantum math is the roadmap to the world of elementary waves, but we did not know how to read the map. He suggested that Boyd, with a degree in mathematics, should work on deciphering the map. In 2014 Boyd began thinking that amplitudes are the core of QM, and elementary rays the core of TEW: perhaps they were equivalent. Both decisively influence particle behavior without conveying any energy. This essay discusses the history, strengths, weakness and implications of this conjecture.

About the Transition to Turbulence Through Chaotic Distortion of Vortex Shedding
The results of direct numerical integration of the Navier-Stokes equations are evaluated against experimental data for the problem of flow around a hard sphere at rest. The evaluation is performed for both the sequence o...
Anti-aging Effect of Free Curcumin and Niosome Entrapping Curcumin in H2O2-induced Aging in Human Fibroblast Cell Lines
Aging is not a disease but it a changes that come with time, aging may make an individual susceptible to disease. Exposure to smoke, UV radiation, chemicals or other exogenous agents over time can damage cells, as can pr...
Structural, Dielectric and Electrical Characteristic of Bi0.5Pb0.5[Fe0.1La0.4(Zr0.25Ti0.25)]O3
The polycrystalline compound Bi0.5Pb0.5 [Fe0.1La0.4 (Zr0.25Ti0.25)]O3 was synthesized by substituting Pb, La, Zr and Ti ions on perovskite structured bismuth ferrite (BFO) with the help of mixed oxide solid state reactio...
The Magnetocaloric Properties of Gd5Si4 Alloy Prepared by the New Method
We report on a new method for preparation the magnetocaloric alloy Gd5Si4. By mechanical alloying under argonatmosphere and then melting sample by arc furnace, we produced the Gd5Si4 alloy. The structure and magnetotherm...
