The Code Images and Techniques of "Double Coding" in the Ballet "The Master and Margarita" of David Avdysh

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the code, images and methods of "double coding" in the modern ballet "The Master and Margarita". Methodology. The methodology of the study is to apply a systematic approach that allowed the researcher to identify particular methods of "double coding" in the post-modern cho-reographic works. Scientific novelty. Scientific novelty consists in determining the methods of "double coding" in the ballet "The Master and Margarita" of D. Avdysh. The experience of past culture in the form of codes, images of the novel, written by Mikhail Bulgakov, was presented in the post-modern choreographic works of the beginning of XXI century. The whole ballet is a kind of tissue of quotations, allusions, reminiscences, deja vu. His appeal of advertising associated with the use of well-known names of "The Master and Margarita" and code-images of the novel. This experimental work of D. Avdysh reflects an important principle of "double coding", namely, the ballet appeal to the mass audience and intellec-tuals. Characteristic features of post-modern works are quotations, allusions, reminiscences as the artistic techniques of "double coding". Eclectic stylistic means that the musical story fragmentary and uncertainty create conditions for dual decoding the content of this ballet. Decoding dance posters are going in a way of the semantics of a function, means of the transformation, signs, symbols and codes, and their inclusion in the system of intertextuality. Conclusions. "Double coding" phenomenon in "The Master and Margarita" ballet is associated with the structure of choreographic and musical texts., it as a postmodern text includes artistic images from a previously created thematic material and techniques of avant-garde and popular culture. It comes to music and choreography, lighting and stage design.
