The list of the most used models of quality management systems in higher education institutions in the world educational space is given. The four most spread quality management models are analyzed. The first model is one, based on the valuation method (SWOT-analysis). It involves systematic self-assessment in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the educational institution, the positive and negative factors for its development. This model is widely used by higher education institutions in the US, Canada, and Western European countries during accreditation. The quality management model (the second one) based on the principles of overall quality management (TQM) is based on the process approach and its use is aimed at a steady increase in all performance indicators of the higher education institutionthrough continuous quality growth. The third model is the quality management model, based on the requirements of international quality standards ISO 9000 and ISO 9001, which involves the establishment of all stakeholders, the definition of their requirements for product quality, the creation of a system of continuous improvement of activities. This model is based on the fundamental principles of quality management, including the process approach. And the forth model is the model of business excellence EFQM. This one is based on the use of the criteria of the results and capabilities of the higher education system, which involve improving the educational activities and improving the management of the education system. The EFQM allows people to understand the causal relationships between their organization, capabilities, and outcomes it achieves. Also the models of higher education quality management developed by national scientists are considered.
