Abstract
The paper is concerned with the study of the legal framework which is used in Ukraine and in Latvia to ensure the implementation of the gender equality principle in labour relations. The problematic issues which pertain to the practical use of the gender equality principle laws in the job markets of Latvia and Ukraine have been compared. The mechanisms and institutions that support the effective application of the gender equality principle in Latvia have been investigated.
