The concept of agression in the doctrine of contemporary international law

Journal Title: Revista Institutului Național al Justiției - Year 2019, Vol 48, Issue 1

Abstract

The role of the official codification of an international rule through international agreements is indisputable. Nevertheless, informal/unofficial codification, especially based on the writings of scholars in this field, is of particular importance. Certainly, the official codification is preceded by a detailed doctrinal analysis of a specific subject. Even though the doctrine is a subsidiary mean for the determination of the rule of law, much of the official codification is based on a scientific approach to a certain issue through the doctrine, and the definition of aggression is no exception in this respect.
