THE CORRUPTION TRAP” OF THE UKRAINIAN ECONOMY: REASONS FOR ITS FORMATION AND MEANS OF COMBATING IT

Abstract
The article analyses the main scientific approaches to researching corruption as a persistent institutional trap of the Ukrainian economy. It considers the mechanisms and causes of corrupt relations and corrupt models of behaviour. The article analyses the term “corrupt rent” as a manifestation of corrupt activity. It demonstrates the impact of corruption on the modern state of the socio-economic system; as part of an institutional analysis it considers the main causes and consequences of corruption as well as ways to diminish the corrupt element of the Ukrainian economy.
