THE CURRENT STATE AND PROBLEMS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF FARMS

Abstract
Introduction. An important role in the production of agricultural products is now given to farms, which in fact became full actors in the agrarian multi-economy economy, have passed their first stage of formation and establishment. The presence of a large number of large-scale producers, problems in the organization and location of wholesale markets, inadequate level of population of rural areas, inadequate level of resource supply – all this determines the specifics of the competitive environment in which farms operate. The task of the development of farms in Ukraine requires the study of the peculiarities of their activities, the analysis of the current stage of functioning of farms, identifying obstacles to their development and outlining the directions for improving their activities. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current stage of development of farms and to identify the general trends that characterize their production and commercial activity. Methods. Common methods are used in the course of the research: dialectic, monographic, scientific knowledge, abstract and logical, scientific generalization, as well as methods of statistical processing of information. Results. The present state of development of farms in Ukraine is analyzed. The main indicators of their activity are described. The problems faced by farmers today are determined and directions for improving their activities are outlined. Discussion. Further research is planned to be carried out in the areas of state support to farmers and increase the efficiency of their activities, based on the application of progressive marketing strategies for enterprise development.
