THE DEATH PENALTY IS A DILEMMA IN INTERNATIONAL LAW

Abstract
The article explores the notion of the death penalty as an institution of punishment, the question of its replacement and the problem of abolishing this phenomenon at the international level. Violations of the right to life - as an integral absolute human right - are analyzed and the main arguments against the death penalty are highlighted.
