THE DEVELOPMENT OF FOREIGN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN PRIDNIPROVSKIY REGION

Abstract
An analysis of the state and trends of changes in foreign economic activity is a significant component in making managerial decisions and making adjustments to the economic policies of any country. The complex political and economic conditions in which the Ukrainian economy develops have revealed systemic problems accumulated in previous years that hinder the growth of the gross domestic product, namely: high level of import dependence and technological lagging of the production-technological complex; high level of commodity concentration of export-import operations; deformation of the commodity structure of export and import. The article analyzes the modern sphere of foreign trade of the Dnipropetrovsk region. In particular, the main indicators of foreign trade of the region in 2007-2017 are considered. Particular attention is paid to studying the general structure of foreign trade and a detailed analysis of the structure of import and export of goods and services. The commodity and geographic structure of exports and imports, as well as the share of high-tech and raw-material exports in total exports are considered. To analyze the state of foreign economic activity in the region, an econometric model was constructed, based on the dependence of Cobb-Douglas on the volume of the gross regional product from the volumes of import and export of goods and services. In the volume of export-import operations of the region in 2017, the lion's share belongs to trade in goods. Transport services and services in the field of telecommunications, computer and information services prevail in the structure of export of services in the region, and in the structure of imports, business services, as well as royalties and other services related to the use of intellectual property. The article carries out analysis of the necessity of practical steps in developing measures to stimulate the export of goods, restructure the regional economy in order to increase technological exports and the share of high-tech goods and services in compliance with the requirements of international quality standards.
