THE DYNAMICS OF LAND USE CHANGES AND THEIR IMPACTS ON THE QUALITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT IN THE AREA OF BRĂDULEŢ AND MUŞĂTEŞTI COMMUNES
Journal Title: Present Environment and Sustainable Development - Year 2012, Vol 6, Issue 2
Abstract
The location of the area of the two communes in the interference space of Getic Subcarpathians with Făgăraş Mountains imposed along time a variety regarding the land use. Because in the last decades it has produced the accentuated spatio-temporal dynamics of different categories of the land use from this area, the present paper aims to analyze which are the factors upon which these modifications were based, and especially what type of mark has been left in the quality and functionality of the environment. The evaluation modality of the land use dynamics due to the human impact, consists in the application of some synthetical indexes which characterize the degree of environmental transformation from a historical perspective. The application and analysis of the indexes in two different periods, 1980 and 2005, have been possible by obtaining and comparing the data and information from different sources (digitization on topographical maps and orthophotomaps, statistical data, informations from the data set geo-spaţial and Corine Land Cover). This analysis ledd to the spatialization and intensity of the transformations induced by the dynamics of land use changes in the Subcarpathian rural landscape, as well as the establishment of landscapes’ artificiality from this area.

THERMAL DIFFERENCES WITHIN BUCHAREST TOWN AREA CASE STUDY: 01.07.2006-31.03.2007
The thermal differences within the Bucharest town-area, as presented in a case study based on hourly measurements in seven fixed-site monitoring stations, made from 01.07.2006 to 31.03.2007, have clearly revealed the tow...
SOIL IRRIGATION WITH WASTEWATER IN THE CONTEXT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
An important element of analysis from climate change is the water balance. Soil water has a tendency to decrease due to temperature increase. It affects violent relatively large areas of land on long term, causing damage...

The paper examines tourism as potential source of waste generation in urban and rural areas from Neamț County. An assessment method is proposed and the final result is mapping the process at local scale. In order t...
The shifting relationship between urban and spatial planning and the protection of the environment: Romania as a case study
Processes driven by human communities are the core causes of transformations occurring in natural systems. While the environment is a whole, composed of natural and man-dominated subsystems, space is limited and the two...
