The early mother—child relation and its influence on the child’s further emotional development

Abstract
The concepts of influence, that the early mother-child relation has on the child’s further emotional development are presented. The history of this research, starting with the psychoanalysis, through John Bowlby’s attachment theory and M. Ainsworth studies and reports on the rich, nonverbal communication till the psychophysiology, neuropsychology research and the dependences between attachment, traumatic experiences in early childhood and the development of various brain structures and their further consequences for the functioning of a human being is described.
