The effect of body rotation exercises on postural stability in deaf children
Journal Title: Rozprawy Naukowe Akademii Wychowania Fizycznego we Wrocławiu - Year 2007, Vol 25, Issue 1
Abstract
Deaf children show impaired postural stability. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of rotation exercises on the postural stability in deaf children compared with controls, i.e. healthy children. The examinations were carried out prior to and after a regular twoonths’ training in body rotation exercises with both groups. The children were placed on a tensometric platform while the distribution of COP was recorded. No statistically significant changes were found in the variation of dislocation of the vector of force pressure both in the saggital and frontal planes. The values of the variation of dislocation of the vector of force pressure after the training were comparable to the values in controls.
