The Effect of Different Row Spacing on Wheat Cultivars in Rainfall and Irrigation Conditions in Konya: I. Grain Yield and Yield Components

Abstract
This study was carried out the 2020-2021 growing season to determine the effect of 3 different row spacing (18, 20 and 22 cm), 4 registered cultivars (Esperia, Altındane, Reis, Bayraktar 2000) in the Konya ecological conditions. The experiments set up with a split-plot design in the form of randomized complete blocks with three replications, cultivars took place at main plots and row spacing at sub plots. In this study, the results of the plant height, spike length, number of grains per spike and grain yield traits obtained from the experiments carried out in both rainfall and irrigated conditions are given. According to the analysis of variance, it was determined that the statistical effect of cultivar, row spacing and cultivar × row spacing interaction were significant in all of the traits examined in both trials. As a result of the study, Reis cultivar and 18 cm row spacing were prominent in precipitation-based conditions, while Bayraktar 2000 cultivar and 20 cm row spacing were prominent in irrigated conditions.
