THE EFFECT OF PUBLIC SERVICES THAT TEMPORARY COMPULSORY IMMIGRANTS ARE TAKING TO GOVERNMENT’S REPUTATION IN THE TURKEY’S OPERATIONS AGAINST PKK TERROR ORGANIZATION: THE CASE OF MARDİN

Abstract

After the Turkish general elections on 7 June 2015 terror organization PKK has started its attacks again and dug ditches in some regions of southeastern Anatolia. After these events The Republic of Turkey has started wide-scaled military operations. With these operations curfew declared in many settlements in the area. And in this process many citizens temporally migrated away to different cities. This study deals with the health, social, education and security services and economic aids that given to these temporary immigrants by the Turkish government. These services and aids will be examined in terms of their effects on the Turkish Government's reputation. For this purpose a research has been made on the temporary compulsory immigrants that came to Mardin from the surrounding cities. The questionnaire prepared for the research consists of three sections. The first section contains the judgments on health, social, education, security services and economic aids. In the second section there are judgements about the level of trust in the state, the unity and integrity of the country, and the economic future of the territory, and the approaches towards the Kurdish political movements in order to determine the general perception of the state. And in the third section there are questions about the socio-demographic and immigration status. 350 temporary immigrants -who lives in Mardin now- joined in this research and the results shows that the health, social and education services and economic aids is strengthens the reputation of the state. In addition to that the research data supports the view that the Kurdish political movement in the region and the PKK are represented together.
