The Effect of Trait Anxiety on the Performance in Iowa Gambling Task

Abstract

As a classical task of measuring individual decisions based on emotions, the Iowa gambling task and influencing factors had always been paid attention. The research adopted Iowa gambling task to compare task scores of two kinds subjects under different traits anxiety level. The Results showed that there was a significant difference in task scores between different traits anxiety level individuals. Those who had strong traits anxiety tended to choose unfavorable cards in task, leading to poorer scores compared with weak traits anxiety individuals. It revealed that traits anxiety level as a personality factor will exert influence on the Iowa gambling task scores.
