THE EFFECT OF UNEVEN LOAD DISTRIBUTION ALONG THE MESHING OF THE TEETH CONTACT STRESS

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2012, Vol 245, Issue 5

Abstract

The paper presents issues concerning the contact stresses occurring in the surface layer of the teeth of gears. We analysed the gears found in the actual gear used in the drive wheel loaders and crawler tractors. Engineering calculations of uneven load distribution along the contact line of the teeth are determined by the factors KHβ. Assigned numerical values to these factors, depending on the accuracy performance of gears, are used for evaluating the technology used in the process of finishing. The final phase of the calculations of contact stresses and oil film thickness in the area of inter tooth, taking into account technological factors, allow the designer to make predictions concerning the durability and reliability of the propulsion systems at the design stage.
