Abstract
The paper presents the research on clinical efficacy of treatment of newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis with application of nitric oxide donor for the purpose of renoprotection of patients with primary impairments of renal excretory function. We have observed 84 patients with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis. The efficacy of treatment of patients with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis and impairment of renal excretory function, who took the nitric oxide donors drugs (L-Arginine) was compared with a group of patients, who received the standard course of antituberculous therapy. After the first month of treatment a normalization of main clinical manifestations of tuberculosis was observed in both groups, but in patients of the treatment group, who took L-Arginine, this process was slightly faster. Changes in the kidney function, which were observed at the earliest stages based on urinary microdoses albumin excretion, required the application of nephroprotectors, and L-Arginine was selected as such nephroprotector. Application of nitric oxide donor and amino acid L-Arginine in multimodality therapy of newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis allows increasing the efficacy of antituberculous therapy.
