The Effects of Dietary Yeast Extract Containing Mannan Oligosaccharide and β-glucans on Body Performance, Feed Efficiency and Carcass Characteristics in Japanese Quail
Journal Title: Journal of Animal Science Advances - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
The present study evaluated the effects of dietary yeast extract (YE) containing mannan-oligosaccharide and β-glucans on growth performance, feed efficiency and carcass characteristics in Japanese quails. Two hundred and sixty one-week old quails were assigned into 4 groups of 5 replicates and fed a diet supplemented with 0, 1, 2 or 3% YE for 5 wks. At the end of the study, the quails were slaughtered, eviscerated, and organs weights and carcass characteristics were measured. Diet did not affect any of the parameters studied.
