The Effects of Ethical Climate and Ethical Leadership on Employee Attitudes: Bosnian Case

Abstract

This paper explores the effects of ethical climate and ethical leadership behaviour on employees' job satisfaction, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviour. Using a sample of 213 employees from the private universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH), the support was found for hypothesized model. This study demonstrates that ethical climate and education level of employees were positively related to their job satisfaction, ethical climate and ethical leadership were positively related to organizational commitment, but educational level of employees was negatively related to their commitment to organization and job satisfaction and organizational commitment were positively related to organizational citizenship behaviour. Theoretical and practical implications of these results were discussed in BIH context.
