The endemic plant species Pietrosia levitomentosa, a real conservation challenge

Abstract

The current paper presents a study upon the scientific knowledge on the conservation status and future perspectives of the endemic species Pietrosia levitomentosa Nyárády ex Sennikov. The scope of the paper is to improve our understanding about this endemic species and to underline its importance. The present study case is being used to highlight the main features of biodiversity conservation in Romania, a country with a high number of endemic species.
