THE ESTABLISHMENT, OPERATION AND LIQUIDATION OF STATE-OWNED FARMS

Abstract
This paper presents the indications of setting up the state-owned farms in the institutional sense, the general characteristics of their activities and the organizational changes in more than 40 years of their existence, as well as the reasons for their liquidation. Despite the passage of 25 years since the decision to liquidate the state-owned farms, the effects of their existence and transformations are still an important element of the socio-economic reality, especially in regions, in which the participation of the state sector in agriculture was high in the past. Assessing the causes and effects of the state-owned farms’ liquidation is still the subject of different opinions, which is also highlighted in this study.<br/><br/>
