The European Court of Human Rights on the guarantee of the rights of suspects on prejudicial inquiry

Abstract

Considering the example of the European Court of Human Rights decisions, made on Ukraine, the article focuses on the Court position in regard to the guarantee of rights of suspects on prejudicial inquiry. It is illustrated that prolonged prejudicial inquiries and court proceedings are violations of Articles 5 and 6 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
