THE FILM «ALIM» – A SOURCE INVESTIGATION OF THE TRADITIONAL COSTUME OF CRIMEAN TATARS AND CRIMEAN KARAITES MID XIX CENTURY (ON THE 200th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH ALIM AZAMAT OGLU)

Abstract
The problem of studying feature film «Alim» in the Ukrainian ethnological science as the source investigation of the traditional costume of the Turkic and Turkic-speaking population of the Crimean peninsula mid XIX century, that have performed the major role in the traditional culture, worldview and the representation of personal and ethnic identity in society, was considered in the article. The features of creation of the film were revealed. The main characters’s costumes on the basis of the different historical sources (paintings, old photographs, postcards, museum items, written documentary and personal origin sources, etc.) were described. The basic (clothing, footwear) and additional (hats, belts, jewelry) components in the regional complex of the traditional costume of the Crimean Tatars and Crimean Karaites were selected. The chronology of use elements, the distinctive characteristics and the ethnic local components of the main characters’s suit in the researched period were examined.
