Abstract
While little debates are on regarding the ratification of the Treaty of Lisbon, the future of Europe is also called into question, although in different terms, in the region to its East. The present article points to some of the aspects associated with the new EU initiative towards its East while trying to catch a glimpse at the (eastern) future.
