The History of the Formation of the Building On The Territory Of Compact Settlement Of The Blind in the Central City District of the Town Makeyevka: Social and Architectural Town-Planning Aspects

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of the formation and the current state of the building in the area of compact settlement of the blind in the Central City district of Makeyevka. The following time periods are considered: 60–80-ies of the 19 cent. – the transition from agriculture to the formation of large industrial infrastructure; 90-ies of 19 cent. – the construction of the settlement Dmitrievka (future business and administrative centre of the Central City district); 1-st–2-nd dec. of 20 cent. – the formation and development of social infrastructure of the settlement Dmitrievsk; 20-th–30-ies of 20 cent. – the reconstruction and reorganization of the town-formativ enterprises of Makeyevka mining area; 2-nd half of 30-ies–1-st half of 50-ies of 20 cent. – the formation and development of artel of town comradely society of the blind (branch of the Stalin artel of the blind), the beginning of the construction of housing and social objects for the blind; 2-nd half of the 50-ies–early 90-ies of 20 cent. – the formation and development of specialized educational and production enterprise of the Ukrainian comradely society of the blind, the active construction of housing for the blind; 90-ies of 20 cent.–1-st dec. of 21 cent. – partial and complete loss of some important objects of industrial and social infrastructure on the territory of the settlement of the blind. On the basis of the results of the research the conclusion about necessity of the reconstruction of the building on the territory of the settlement of the blind with a view to ensuring the labour places for the persons with disabilities and amenities of their social and consumer services is given.
