The hornbeam in the air of selected Polish cities in 2009

Abstract
The article presents a record of the 2009 hornbeam pollination season in Szczecin, Poznań, Wrocław, Sosnowiec, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Warszawa, Olsztyn and Białystok. The research was carried out by means of the volumetric method with the use of Burkard and Lanzoni devices. The pollen season was determined by means of the 95% method. The beginning of hornbeam pollen season occurred between 8–16 April. The highest concentration values were recorded in Lublin and Szczecin (78, 70 grains/m3) and the lowest in Warszawa (17 grains/m3).
