THE HYPOTHESIS OF THE ORIGIN OF THE UKRAINIAN ETHNIC GROUP IN THE WRITINGS OF YURIY FIGURNY, STEPAN MAKARCHUK AND VASILY BALUSHKO

Abstract
The views of three Ukrainian researchers, ethnologists on the problem of the ethnogenesis of the Slavs are highlighted, their basic differences in the interpretation of the origin of this ethnos are determined, the common position in the study of this problem is analyzed. In the period of the rise of self-identity by the Ukrainian society and the question of the origin of the Ukrainian people and statehood, this issue is very relevant. To reflect the full breadth of scientific research, scientists with a completely different vision have been taken into account, which will help form their own subjective point of view since the beginning of the 21st century opened a new page of research in the history of Kievan Rus.
