THE IMPACT OF EU LAW ON THE LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN THE URBAN AREAS OF POLAND

Abstract
Poland’s accession to the European Union has impacted the state legal system. qe decision to participate in this supranational organization implied the will to accept the entire body of legal solutions developed by the European Communities as the law binding domestically. qe accession treaty entailed, for instance, transferring some competences from the state authorities to the EU. Transport policy (due to its economic and social importance) is one of the #elds where the competences were partly devolved to community institutions. Based on the act on public collective transport it has been demonstrated how the domestic laws are in}uenced by the European legal framework and thus how it a~ects the operation of entities providing services in the #eld of urban public transport.<br/><br/>
